Tree Planting Ceremony

Come Join Us for our Anual TREE PLANTING CEREMONY

In 1994, Lyndahl Funeral Home began Living Legacy, an exclusive memorial tree program. Living trees, symbolic of strength and future growth, are planted each year in memory of those whose families we have been so privileged to serve. This program is a partnership between Lyndahl Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Legacy Chapel and the Brown County Parks Department to help restore the landscape and environment with the lasting beauty of living. This year, trees will be planted along the Fox River State Recreational Trail on Saturday, June 16, 2012. We will meet in Greenleaf, at the corner of Follett and Klaus Streets at 9:00 am and proceed with a brief blessing of the trees and planting along the trail.

Directions: From East – De Pere, take Broadway, south and follow Highway 57/32 south approximately nine miles to the intersection of Follett and Klaus Streets. (The Cornette Feed Mill will be on the corner.)

Stretching 20 miles from downtown Green Bay to the Brown/Calumet County line, the Fox River Trail corridor has a rich history, beginning with the Native Americans who used footpaths to travel between their villages located along the rivers. The early French explorers, missionaries, and traders built their posts and missions along these trails as well. Today the trail is enjoyed by many! Whether bicycling, in-line skating, horseback riding or just walking, the Fox River Trail is a tremendous asset to Brown County! We invite you to attend the ceremony and, if you’d like, to participate in planting of the seedlings.

Please let us know before June 12 if you would like to attend by calling Lyndahl Funeral Home at 920-499-1223. Please bring a shovel! Inclement weather may necessitate a rain date.

Following the plantings, a certificate of planting will be sent to you. (It is not necessary to be present to receive the certificate.)
