Dear Luann and family, My mom just told me of the news today. I wanted to send my condolences. Every time I bake bread, (even 45-50 years later) I think of her. I remember when I was little and would come over to play, two days a week (if my memory serves accurate) the house was filled with the wonderful aroma of fresh baked bread. That is one of my favorite childhood memories. To this day, I still think that aroma is one of the best reasons for baking homemade bread. I also remember the annual peach canning and how we got to help. Your mom made a wonderful home for her family and it was so nice to know her.

Dear Maryann, Bob, Lois, and LuAnne, I was so sorry to hear of Rita's death. I don't know if all of you know that when I was a small child, Rita baby-sat me; that's how she got to meet your father and marry him. That was a long, long time ago, but I remember it as if it were yesterday. I used to call Rita occasionally and in between, she would call me. I have not heard from her for quite a while; I feel so bad that I did not try to call her. I send you all my sympathy and prayers (for all of you). I wish I were able to be there; but I'm just not able to manage the trip from Sinsinawa to Green Bay at this time; it is too difficult for me. With love and prayer, Sister Barbara Tilkens.

Bob, Lois, & LuAnn, I am so sorry to learn about your Mom's passing. I will miss Rita's phone calls. Always enjoyed our chats about both of our family's, Churches, mutual friends, etc. She was a wonderful, faithful woman & now she is reunited with your Dad, who was a special guy also. They both did so much for Trinity & for others. She will me missed.
