Eleanor Jean Perron-Valk was born and raised in Escanaba, MI, with her twin sister Elizabeth J. (Perron) Oslund, and their older brother, Robert J. Perron, Jr. She was the daughter of Robert O. Perron Sr. and the late Eileen M. (Hamm) Perron.
Ellie attended Holy Name High School and Bay De Noc Community College before continuing her studies in education and graduating from Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, MI. On Monday, January 20, 1975, she signed her first teaching contract and spent the first 13 years of her career in Special Education. In 1988 she transitioned to elementary school where she taught second and then third grade until June of 2008, when she retired after a total of 33 amazing years of teaching. She made a difference in not only the lives of her students and their parents but that of so many colleagues as well. Ellie also volunteered with Oneida students, tutored in her spare time and even taught summer school for many years.
When Eillie bought a house in Green Bay, she had the good fortune of becoming back yard neighbors with an equally fun loving man that would become her future husband. Ellie and Rick were married at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish on July 28, 1990. The couple loved to entertain and celebrate anything from holidays to the Packers and made sure there were plenty of laughs. Sadly, after only 17 years, Rick passed away. From that time on, she made sure to celebrate each day with faith, love and lots of laughter.
Ellie had a great love for travelling and spending time with family and friends. Her smiles and laughter were contagious. She would want all of us to appreciate every day and live life to the fullest!
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rick Valk and her mother, Eileen (Hamm) Perron.
She is survived by her father, Robert Perron Sr.; twin sister, Liz (David) Oslund; brother, Bob (Marti) Perron; nephews and nieces, Lisa Oslund (who had a mother/daughter relationship with her), Scott (Nicole) Perron, Heather (Bob) Herdina, Isaac (Heather) Oslund; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; great-nieces and nephews, Meredith, Malachi, Bryce, Dane, Ellis, Camille, Breckyn; and countless amazing friends!
Visitation will take place on Friday, August 4, 2017 at Allouez Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum Chapel, 2121 Riverside Drive, from 1:00 pm until the time of funeral service at 2:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy, memories and photos of Ellie may be shared with the family on her tribute page at www.lyndahl.com.

RIP Eillie, you left us way too early. I will always miss that infectious smile and laugh that she had, "one of our Goulais sisters from the days of our hood". This is one Lady that you will always remember.
