Virginia "Ginny" E. Sylvester, 60, Green Bay, passed away at her home where she loved to be on Saturday, January 21, 2012. She was born on June 27, 1951 in Green Bay to Hugo and Betty (Van Loon) Salzsieder. Ginny and Ray Sylvester were high school sweethearts and married on August 29, 1970 in Green Bay. Ginny loved her pets and all animals. She liked to take walks. She enjoyed making other people happy and was a friend to all. Ginny was a great wife, mom, daughter and aunt. She was a staunch Democrat all of her life.
Surviving are her loving husband, Ray; her son, Jake Sylvester of Green Bay; her mother, Betty Salzsieder; two sisters, Carol (Ned) Cain and Linda (Matt) Rowley; a brother, Ted (Michelle) Salzsieder; nieces, Chelsea, Brianna, Mandy, Tanya and Kara; nephews, Nevin, Alan, Jeremy, Chad, Derek and Spencer; five brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gerald (Karen) Sylvester, Perry (Rosie) Sylvester, Steve (Terry) Sylvester, Bill (Penni) Sylvester and Julie (Doug) Johnson; her godchild, Chelsea Salzsieder; her close friend and confidante, Gina; her beloved pets, Rocky, Molly, Scooter, Olive, Bubbles and Cuddles.
She was preceded in death by her father, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bud and Millie Sylvester and her favorite little smushy face grandpup, Rosie.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Lyndahl Funeral Home from 4 pm until the funeral service at 7 pm. Interment will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park. A memorial fund has been established in Ginny's name.
