Biography

Lucille M. Mommaerts, 86, Green Bay, passed away on January 24, 2012. Lucille was born on May 4, 1925 in Luxemburg to Felix and Rose (Kollross) Bunker. She married Edwin J. Mommaerts on August 19, 1944 at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Green Bay and he preceded her in death on July 28, 2009. She was currently a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Suamico and that church's Altar Society. In her spare time Lucille worked as a volunteer at St. Mary Hospital. She was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, and the Koinonia Retreat Group. Edwin and Lucille were also among the first members of C.P. Parents and Lucille was a board member for 25 years. Lucille faced many challenges in her life and she always faced them head -on and did her best. Lucille had many talents which she was willing to share with anyone. She loved sewing and the time she spent on "Stitchin' Time", a sewing program on Channel 2. She was employed for many years at Marchant Fabric. She also loved flowers and gardening.

Survivors include 1 son, Rod (Kathy) Mommaerts, Wausau, 1 daughter, Jo Schuessler, Green Bay, eight grandchildren, Sgt. 1st Class Philip (Melisa) Schuessler, US Army, Matt (Becky) Schuessler, Andy Schuessler, Gregory Mommaerts, Russel Mommaerts, Jack Mommaerts, Nathan Karlen and Reid Karlen, 3 great-grandchildren, Shawn, Cassandra and Audrey Schuessler, 2 daughters-in-law, Lori Vecchio and Monica Beard, 2 brothers, Lloyd (Addie)Bunker and Rodney (Ginny) Bunker, 2 sisters, Viletta (Dave) Lischka and Bonita Versboncoeur, as well as many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edwin, 1 son Russell, 1 daughter Sue Mommaerts, and 1 sister Revella (Lester)Pagel.

Gathering of family and friends will be held at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 3370 West Deerfield Avenue, Suamico, Saturday, February 11, 2012 from 9-11 am. Memorial Mass at 11:00 am at the church with The Rev. Gerald Prusakowski, O.F.M. officiating. Interment at the church cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl.com.

Lou was a great person and a wonderful Mother! I am sure you will all miss her a lot. She will be with Eddie and Susy now for eternity! Condolence to Lloyd and the rest of the family!
