Arles I. Tesch, age 97, of Green Bay, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018, at a local nursing home where she had been a resident for ten years. Born in Glenmore on June 24 1920, she was the only daughter of the late Walter and Ella (Lange) Eisenman. She attended school (Elm View) in De Pere, WI and grew up on the family farm near Pine Grove.
Arles married Richard J. Champeau Sr. in December of 1937. They had two children, Dianne and Richard Jr., and later divorced. She then married Arthur J. Gutzman in 1942. She and Arthur had one child, Terry, and had 35 years together when Arthur died in September of 1977. Arles later met and married Raymond F. Tesch in Green Bay, WI. They had enjoyed 30 years together when Raymond passed away in June of 2010. She was a long-time member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Green Bay.
Arles is survived by her children, Richard J. (Sandra) Champeau, of Wrightstown and Terry L. (Pamela) Gutzman, of White Lake; son-in-law, Orval Gutzman; nine grandchildren, and many great and great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, her daughter, Dianne Gutzman; and brother, Merwin “Teddy” Eisenman.
Visitation for Arles will be held on Monday, June 4, 2018, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 2066 Lawrence Dr., De Pere, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of funeral service. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Golden Living Center (Green Bay Health Services) for their care and concern for Arles over the past ten years; to Peggy Francois, Arles’ caring caregiver prior to her entering the nursing home; and to Jean Giese, a longtime friend of Arles for remaining a good friend through the good times and not so good times.
