Carol R. Mickelson, age 84, of Green Bay, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2018. She was born in Green Bay on April 15, 1933, to the late Ervin and Gertrude (Anderson) Klahn. Carol graduated from Green Bay East High School in the Class of 1951. She worked as an office manager from Prudential Insurance for nine years before being a stay-at-home mom. Carol was united in marriage with Clarence Mickelson on September 18, 1954, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Green Bay. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she was a treasurer, pantry volunteer, in the Women’s Circle, and Pres-folks. Carol was an active member of the YMCA, doing weekly exercise classes and swimming. She also enjoyed doing word searches and crosswords, puzzles, playing cards and board games, and baking desserts for her sweet-tooth husband, kids, and grandkids. Carol loved to travel, by plane, train, boat, RV, and station wagon, and was fortunate enough to be able to visit all of the 50 states.
Carol will be sadly missed by her husband of 63 years, Clarence; her children, Teresa “Terri” (Dave) Picard, of Dunedin, Florida and Daniel (Deborah) Mickelson, of North Aurora, Illinois; grandchildren, Joseph (Mary), Jacob, Sarah, Joshua, and Jonell Mickelson; sister, Doris Brice; nieces and nephews, Larry (Linda) Brice, Randy (Jane) Brice, David “Duke” (Patty) Brice, Dale (Peggy) Brice, Jill (David) Bielinski, James Walker, Jennifer Ruby, and Thomas Walker; as well as many loving friends.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Julie Ann; sister, Virginia (Don) Walker; and niece, Linda Walker Kon Kel.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at First Presbyterian Church, 200 S. Ashland, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Randy Argall officiating. Burial will be in Nicolet Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the church pantry.
