Ernest M Hansen

Ernest “Ernie” M. Hansen, 81, Green Bay, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018. He was born on July 12, 1937 to the late Evan and Viola (Hansen) Hansen in Green Bay. Ernie met Beverly Townsend on a blind date while stationed at Offutt Air Force base. They later married on September 5, 1958. Ernie was a member of the Moose Lodge and the choir at Bethel Lutheran Church. He enjoyed running and participated in 18 marathons after the age of 50.  Ernie loved the Green Bay Packers.

Ernie is survived by his children, Russell (Julia) Hansen, Lori (Jon) Borgen and Eric (Cheryl) Hansen; five grandchildren, Kelsey Borgen, Mitchell Borgen, Jeanette Hansen, Hailey Hansen and Evan Hansen; brothers, Norman (Rae) Hansen and John (Margo) Hansen; brothers-in-law, Ray Townsend and Richard Granholm; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Smith, Janet Markmann, Geraldine (Gene) Zarek, Lorraine (Gary) Lammers and Mary Lou Brumley; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; sister, Karen Granholm and sister-in-law, Phyllis Beacraft.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Bethel Lutheran Church, 1350 Bond Street, from 9:30 am until the time of funeral service at 11:00 am with Rev. Brian Staude officiating.
