Glen Sorenson Obituary

Glen W. Sorenson, 73, of Green Bay, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018. He was born November 21, 1944 in Green Bay, to Walter and Elizabeth (Rother) Sorenson.

He graduated from East High School in 1962 and married Jean Barrette on February 1, 1964. Glen worked several jobs including Brown County Golf Course, Renco, and FMC before starting at the Green Bay Fire Department in 1973. Glen built a few homes in Green Bay before building their family home on the far west side of Green Bay in 1977. He also worked at Amplas off and on for several years. Glen retired as a Captain from the Green Bay Fire Department in 1998 and enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and golfing. Glen and Jean enjoyed traveling in the winter to visit Destin, Florida; Lake Havasu, Arizona; and Palm Springs, California.

Glen will be greatly missed by his wife of 54 years, Jean; son, Scott; daughter, Susan; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Jennifer, and their children Sierra, Jacob, and Bradley; brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Mary Sorenson; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kathy and Mike Riley; sister-in-law, Terina Barrette; sister-in-law, Mary Sorenson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Janet; and brother, Vernon.

Family and friends may call at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2771 Oakwood Dr., on Thursday, March 15, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.  Glen’s life will be celebrated in a Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. with Sister Marla Clercx, ANG presiding.  Expressions of sympathy, memories, and photos of Glen may be shared with his family on his tribute page at www.lyndahl.com.
