Jackson “Jack” R. Zindel, 90, Green Bay, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Woodside Lutheran
Home. He was born on June 10, 1928 to Bernard and Helen (Beverage) Zindel in Milwaukee, WI. He
married BettySue Palmer on September 18, 1954 in Wisconsin Rapids.
Jack worked as a conductor on the Green Bay and Western Railroad for 35 years. He was a member of
the Arcadia Masonic Lodge 201, Zor Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, and the Transportation
Union. His fellow members of Pilgrim Congregational Church will miss Jack’s ready smile and his
boundless sense of humor. He enjoyed holiday gatherings and picnics with his family and babysitting his
nieces with BettySue. He was an avid golfer, and loved to travel with his wife, BettySue, with whom he
spent many winters in Arizona.
He is survived by his nephews, Peter Plahmer, Jeff Hild, Jerry Hild and Lynn Hild; nieces, Linda Bristol,
Stephanie (James) Bade, Sandra (Marty) Bretl; three great-nieces, Katie, Megan and Lily; 1 great-
nephew, Sam; and one great great-nephew, Mason; as well as his church family and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his brother, Edson Zindel; and sisters,
Edna Zindel, Ona (Ross) Hunter, Catherine (Lyle) Dean and Millicent (Woodrow) Hild.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Pilgrim Congregational Church, 991 Pilgrim Way,
from 11:00 am until the time of funeral service at 12:00 pm. Rev Dr. Mark McAnlis will be officiating.
