Loren L. Spaude

Loren L. Spaude, age 86, of Suamico, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 30, 2018.  He was born on April 5, 1932, in Menominee, Michigan, to the late Leo and Mildred (Gypp) Spaude.  After graduating from Menominee High School, he worked at the Ansul Company while also playing semi-pro football.  Loren married the former Monica Dory on May 14, 1955 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marinette, Wisconsin.  He then worked as head of Fire Protection and Security for the Fort Howard Paper Company for 31 years, before retiring in 1992.  While he and Monica raised their family in Ashwaubenon, Loren was a school board member for nine years, a Cub Master for 14 years, and participated in many other community services.  He enjoyed being a member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church and participated in the choir, committees, and being an usher.  Loren was a good athlete and enjoyed bowling and golfing.  He also loved fishing and hunting.  Loren was a woodworker and made many bences, book cases, and rocking horses that will be used and remembered by his family for many years to come.  Loren enjoyed many camping trips with his family and friends.  Above all else, Loren loved being a grandfather and great-grandfather.

Loren will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 63 years, Monica; his children, Steve (Leni), Scott (Amy), Beth (Paul) Krueger, Stuart (Brenda), Spencer (Julie); grandchildren, Sierra (Kevin), Saywer (Hannah), Ryan, Kaitie,(Eloy), Cortney (Chad), Rebecca (Adam), Lance (Brooke), Justin (Jolee), and Tony; great-grandchildren, Tobin, Mason, Aria, and Cooper; sister, Judy (Jerry) Seid; sisters-in-law, Judy Spaude and Pat (Richard) Ackerman; brothers-in-law, Frank Dory and Tom (Carol) Dory; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Loren was preceded in death by his three brothers, three sisters, and mother and father-in-law.

Visitation will be held at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 2270 S. Oneida St., on Monday, June 4, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial to honor Loren’s life will begin at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will be in Mt.
