Mary L. Johnson, Ashwaubenon, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2017. She was born on January 6, 1930, in Spring valley, WI, the oldest of six. On June 3, 1952, Mary married Dale E. Johnson. Mary was a dedicated teacher in the Ashwaubenon School District (Pioneer Elementary) for 27 years. She was a passionate reader, baker and life-long learner and gamer. Mary was active in Learning in Retirement at UWGB, patron of Neville Art Museum, Botanical Garden and Ashwaubenon Historical Society.
She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey (Karen) and Brian (Chris), Ashwaubenon; her daughters, Teri, Green Bay, Dawn, Denver, CO and Jackie (Robert) Armstrong, Beldenville, WI; son-in-law, David Olson, Tomah, WI; eight grandchildren, Billie (Jason Hills) Olson, Lebanon IL, Matthew (Shaundra) Olson, Boise, ID, Derek Johnson and Daniel Johnson, Ashwaubenon, Connor Johnson and Halle Johnson, Ashwaubenon, and Samantha and Logan Armstrong, Beldenville, WI; six great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Cohen Johnson, Ashwaubenon, Freya Hills, Lebanon, IL, Liam, Malcolm and Graham Olson, Boise, ID; her sister, Patricia Kane and brothers, Richard and David Wood; other well-loved sisters and brothers-in-law, family and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Dale, July 6, 1985; daughter, Bobbie Jo Olson, brother, Robert Wood and sister, Colleen Malm.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017, at Nativity Catholic Church, 2270 South Oneida Street, from 8:30 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Mike Ingold, officiating. A light lunch will follow.
Other than her one true passion, Dale, she loved Donald Driver, the Green Bay Packers and a rousing game of Hand & Foot with her grandchildren.
