Mary Manns Obituary

Mary A. Manns, 79, Green Bay, died on Sunday, April 15, 2018. She was born in Two Rivers on November 30, 1938 to the late Carl and Gertrude (Kamn) Newberg. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Manitowoc in 1957. She was active in Girl Scouts and enjoyed being a cheerleader for the Manitowoc Ships.

She attended Bellin School of Nursing and graduated in 1962. After graduation she worked for the Goeltz Clinic and after moving to Stevens Point, she worked for Portage County Health Center for 20 years. Following retirement, Mary and Carl moved back to their hometown of Green Bay, where she continued to support her beloved Packers. 

Mary married Carl Manns at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manitowoc on July 14, 1960. Together they had two children. They were avid sailors and sailed Lake Michigan, enjoying the many ports of the Great Lakes. They were active church members and attended New Life Lutheran Church when wintering in Florida, and Ascension Lutheran in De Pere since joining in 2014.

She is survived by her husband, Carl; daughter, Sue (Gary) Gibson; son, Mark (Sheila) Manns; grandchildren, Kyle and Madison Gibson, Elizabeth, Mitchell and Michael Manns; and brother, Charles (Diane) Newberg.

Visitation will be held at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue, on Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 3:00 pm until the time of funeral service at 5:00 pm. Rev. Lori Swenson will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
