Robert David Gaetz

Robert David Gaetz, age 78, of Green Bay, went to be with the Lord and family Monday, May 14, 2018. He was born on August 18, 1940, the eldest of seven children born to the late Anthony and Agnes Gaetz.

Robert was a hardworking man, dedicating 30 years of service to the City of Milwaukee in various positions before retiring in 2001, due to health issues. In his spare time, Robert enjoyed fishing all year round, hunting and being surrounded by good friends and family. He had a knack for conversing with people, whether it was about fishing, asking how you are doing or sharing his experiences. Most important to Robert was standing by his wife’s, Mary, side and never letting her forget how much he loved and cared for her; spending time with family and creating memories with his grandchildren

Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Mary Gaetz; six children, Donald (Debbie) Gaetz, Dwayne Gaetz, Terry (Randy) Olsczewski, Tammy Gaetz, Richard (Olga) Skenandore, Daniel (Jessica) Gaetz; sister, Karen Pacocha; brothers, Anthony (Kathy) Gaetz and Alan (Betsy) Gaetz; as well as 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Agnes Gaetz; brothers, David Gaetz, Gene Gaetz and James Gaetz.

Visitation will be held at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Ave., on Thursday, May 24, 2018, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.  Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Friday, May 25, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.  A funeral service to honor Robert’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m. with Deacon James Gauthier officiating.
