Roger R. Klasen

Roger R. Klasen, age 76, of New Franken, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018.  He was born July 15, 1941, to the late Francis and Lillian (Merceau) Klasen.  Roger proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy from 1959 to 1963.  He married Barbara Dolezal in Indiana on July 17, 1965.  Roger was a world traveler, visiting all of the states, Europe, New Zealand, England and many more.  He had a passion for coaching sports and enjoyed cheering on his grandchildren in his later years.  Roger appreciated a good Packer game but was an avid Chicago fan and loved watching the Bears, Blackhawks and the Cubs.  He enjoyed spending time with his close buddies going golfing, fishing and hanging out.

Roger will be sadly missed by his wife, Barb, who he was married to for 52 years; two children, Mike Klasen and Kristine (Jim) Sweeney; six grandchildren, Westly, Robert, Simon, Madeline, Ryan and Roger; three siblings, Shirley Champeau, Ralph (Faye) Klasen and Tom (Lylas) Klasen; furry friends, Rosie, Daisy and Mini Pooper; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will take place Tuesday, April 3, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue.  A sharing of memories will begin at 5:30 p.m. followed with full military honors.
