Stephen Behling, 69, died unexpectedly on Monday, March 19, 2018 at Aurora Hospital. He was born in Marinette, Wisconsin on April 12, 1948 to Evelyn and Harold Behling and lived there throughout his life.
He graduated from Peshtigo High School in 1966. He was employed at Badger Paper Mill where he worked for 49 years doing various jobs including a heavy crane operator. He retired in April of 2017 as a boilerman. He owned and maintained several rental properties and was instrumental in helping to renovate his and his children’s homes.
He married Judy Rasmussen on December 26, 1970. They had three children. He loved vacationing and traveling around the world with his family. He was a life-long learner with various interests. Steve coached, supported and participated in his children’s sports. He was also an avid reader and loved carpentry, garden gnomes and slot machines.
Above all things, Steve was a family man. He was a devoted husband, loving father and fantastic grandfather. He is survived by his wife Judy, his children, Kristy (Eric), Brock (Danielle), Tara (Tony); grandchildren, Carly, Brodan, Aerabella and Cash; brother, Larry (Bonnie), sister Wanda (Steven), as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings, Roger, Donald, Allen, Darlene, and Yvonne.
The family will host a Celebration of Life gathering at Riverside Golf Club (3459 14th Ave, Menominee, MI 49858) on Saturday, March 24th, 2018 from 4 – 7pm. All family and friends wishing to attend are welcome.
