Susan J. Fleener, 73, died unexpectedly, on Monday, June 18, 2018. She was born on December 10, 1944 in Green Bay, to the late Frank and Ann Hurckman. Susan married Tom Fleener in Green Bay. He preceded her in death in 1999. Some things Susan enjoyed were cooking, reading, swimming in her pool and spending time with her family. She had always put her family first before others. Susan started a childcare center in 1997 with four children and built it up to over 80 children. Susan also started Visiting Angels in 2013. Visiting Angels is responsible for the care of the elderly and handicapped. It’s clear she had a passion for caring for others.
Susan is survived by her daughter, Maria (Jim) Peterson; son, Steve Schroeder; step-daughter, Michelle (Jeff) Gast; grandchildren, Holly (Brad) Rosin and Alex Schroeder; brothers, John (Amy) Hurckman and Jim (Sue) Hurckman; sister, Julie Blank (special friend, Gary Lindner); aunt, Priscilla Herald; uncle, Jack Connerton and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue, on Saturday, June 23, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Deacon Mike Dabeck Officiating. Entombment will be at Allouez Catholic Mausoleum. Expressions of sympathy, memories and photos may be shared with Susan’s family on her tribute page at www.lyndahl.com.
Susan’s family wishes to extend a thank you to the Ashwaubenon Department of Public Safety.
Susan will be greatly missed by her family who loved her so much!
