Wilmer "Bill" Christopherson

June 25, 1932 ~ October 5, 2017 (age 85) 85 Years Old


Wilmer (Bill) Christopherson, age 85, of Ashwaubenon, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017.  He was born June 25, 1932, in Ashwaubenon, to the late Wilmer and Elsie (Villers) Christopherson.

Wilmer served in the U. S. Army from November 14, 1952 until November 13, 1954 in active duty with the 7th Division in Korea.  He was very proud to have gone to Washington D.C. on October 17, 2013 with the Old Glory Honor Flight Mission 21.  On August 7, 1958, he married Elizabeth (Betty) Romenesko at St. John Lutheran Church in Dubuque, Iowa.    Wilmer was a member at the American Legion and a life-member at the VFW.  He was employed at F. Hurlbut Company (American Concrete) for 34 years as a fork lift operator.  During retirement, he worked for Lamers, as a bus driver, transporting children from Green Bay to Fox Valley Lutheran.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty; his sisters-in-law, Judy Buss and Mary Jo Clark and her husband Ken Clark; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and Betty’s parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Gerald Romenesko and William Romenesko and his sister-in-law, Janice Romenesko. 

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 9, 2017, at St. John Lutheran Church, 2700 Babcock Rd., from 5:00 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 7:00 p.m.  Rev. Joshua Fite will be officiating.  Military honors will follow the service. 

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Woodside Lutheran Home, the Ashwaubenon Rescue Squad and the Unity Hospice staff for their care and concern.
