Andrea Vollrath Obituary

Andrea (Olsen)Vollrath, age 84, entered Eternal Life on December 28, 2021, on her 64th wedding anniversary. She was reunited with her loving husband, Larry Vollrath. He passed away June 1, 2010. Andrea was born in Amherst, WI on February 16, 1937 to the late Pearle (Iverson) and Walter Olsen. She married Larry Vollrath at Peace Lutheran Church in Amherst, WI on December 28, 1957, during a blizzard. They had a truly very special bond and were an example of a beautiful marriage. Andrea and Larry lived in Elkhorn, WI when they welcomed their son, John. They then moved to Green Bay, WI and opened their home and hearts to daughter, Jennifer through adoption. Andrea was a very active member at Resurrection Lutheran Church for over 50 years. She and Larry sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, volunteered in the food pantry, and served in countless other capacities. Andrea was very proud to be a Co-Founder of the Literacy Council of Green Bay, now known as Literacy Green Bay. She welcomed many students into her home and developed life-long relationships with several of them. She loved music and reading. She was the sweetest woman ever, developing deep friendships with too many people to count. Andrea thoroughly enjoyed keeping in touch with loved ones near and far. Larry and Andrea raised their family creating memories camping across the country during the summers, spending time at “The Shack”, maple sugaring, volunteering and in their retirement years, traveling around the world with beloved family and friends.

She leaves a legacy of love behind: son, John (Lisa) Vollrath and their children Allison and Grant; daughter, Jennifer (David Grosam) Vollrath-Grosam and their children Matthew and Mitchell; brother, Charles (Diana) Olsen; brother-in-law, Dale (Dotty) Vollrath; many nieces and nephews.

Andrea was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Larry; her parents, Pearle and Walter Olsen; in-laws, Henry and Paula Vollrath; brother-in-law, Verne (Laverne) Vollrath and an infant grandchild.

A private funeral service will take place in the future at her request and due to concerns of Covid. Lyndahl Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Livestreaming will occur for the service and can be viewed beginning at 10:50 am at: https://www.facebook.com/lyndahlfuneralhome
