Barbara Jean (Hansen) Adams

Barbara Jean Adams, 73, of Green Bay, passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Barb was born on January 30, 1948, in Green Bay to Harold and Lorraine (Weiterman) Hansen. She was a graduate of Southwest High School. Following graduation she attended UW-Oshkosh and then completed her schooling at Wisconsin Business School. On October 23, 1976, she married Kenneth Adams at Bethel Lutheran Church, Green Bay. Over the years, Barb was a secretary for the State of WI Highway Department and went on to be an Executive Assistant for IBM and then worked for the American Red Cross Blood Services until her retirement.

Barb was a lifelong member of Bethel Lutheran Church, where she served as a past president and board member of the church council and sang in the church choir. She enjoyed singing, listening to music, reading her books, doing crossword puzzles, and she really loved to dance.

Barb is survived by her husband: Ken; one daughter: Jenna (Jon Paul) Micheau; her parents: Harold and Lorraine Hansen; sister: Debbie Greening; two brothers-in-law: Keith (Chris) Adams, and Donald (Gale) Adams; and seven nieces: Tracy, Kerry, Tammy, Kimberly, Tiffany, Shirley, and Sheila. She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law: Grace Adams and numerous aunts and uncles.

A memorial service to celebrate Barb's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 28, 2022 at Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1350 Bond St, Green Bay, WI. Family and friends may visit at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Kim Swenson.
