Barbara Ann Vander Leest

Barbara A. Vander Leest, 81, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 18, 2023 with her family by her side. She was born on August 13, 1941 in Wisconsin Rapids, to the late Robert. and Mildred (Zieman) Sherwood. She graduated from West High School in 1959.

On April 22, 1961 she married her high school sweetheart, Harold J. Vander Leest, in Green Bay. After raising their 5 children, they enjoyed vending at car shows, spending time with the “Nifty Fifties” Car Club, taking trips south during the winter months to Disney World in Florida, and Laughlin, Nevada. She loved all her chihuahuas, however, her last puppy, Princess, was a teddy bear.

She will be forever loved by her family – five children: Lenora (Michael) Proctor, Steven (Jenni) Vander Leest, Patricia (Russ) Shaefer, Linda Bramer, Michael (Theresa) Vander Leest; 13 Grandchildren: Justin, Kurt, Nicholas, Mitch, Katie, Natalie, Ryan, Britney (Andrew) Appleton, Tyler, Jenna, Rebbeca (Sam) Duval, Adriana, Richard (Valerie); 5 great-grandchildren: Kendra, Isabella, Isla, Jiovanni, Janessa; son-in-law Donn Bramer; and other family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by her only brother Richard in 1964 who she missed dearly.

Visitation will be held at The Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Ave., on Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 pm with Father Beno officiating.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Mark Jenson and the entire staff for the exceptional care provided. We would also like to thank Curative Connections, Oak Park Place, and Aseracare along with their entire staff who helped provide comfort for Barbara up to her final days.
