Barbara Elaine (Embs) Delveau, 88, was called home by Jesus into eternal life on February 3, 2023, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Jacob and Olive Embs on April 1, 1934, in Appleton, WI. Barb graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1952. She worked at Embs Drug store and at First National Bank until she married the love of her life, Duane Delveau, on February 12, 1955, and was blessed with four children.
Barb loved music and she and Duane were excellent dancers. Later in life, she liked going line dancing with her daughters and especially enjoyed spending the afternoon enjoying Music in the Park. She also enjoyed reading, playing games, and watching and feeding her backyard wildlife.
She will always be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother; for being able to pull together a delicious meal at a moments notice; for welcoming the family and their friends home to the smell of fresh baked cookies; and always being there if someone needed help. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends, and caregivers.
Barb is survived by her daughters: Debbie (Greg) Pierre and Vicki (Bill) Collins; her son: Doug (Cheryl) Delveau; five grandchildren: Kristi Collins, Brian (Megan) Collins, Jake (Kristin) Collins, Heather (Justin) Anderson, and David Hamby; and great grandchildren: Jadd and Jase Hackbarth, Braydi Collins, Landon and Trey Collins, Eli and Nora Collins, Orion and Cassidy Wolff, Mason Anderson, Deanna Raby, Dakota, Aurella and Fiona Hamby; sisters: Donna Singstock and Kathy (Gene) Kusbasta; brothers: Mike (Debbie) Embs, and John (Nancy) Embs. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Duane Delveau; her infant son: John Delveau; her sister: Mary Kloiber; and her parents: Olive and Jacob Embs.
Friends may visit on Saturday February 11, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Lyndahl Funeral home in Green Bay. A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation. Entombment will be at Fort Howard Memorial Park. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl.com.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the wonderful Promedica hospice staff and the special caregivers at Sage Meadow Assisted Living for their loving care and compassion.
