Benedict "Ben" Wobosel Obituary

Benedict “Ben” Wobosel, 60, of Green Bay, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer. Ben was born on September 10, 1962 to the late William and Mary (Vandenberg) Wobosel of Ashwaubenon.

Ben graduated from Ashwaubenon High School in 1980 and then attended NWTI’s Auto Collision Repair and Refinishing Technician Program. He worked in this field for several years at LeMieux & Sons Toyota, and then became employed at Nicolet Paper Company in De Pere. Ben was a very talented machine tender. He was a strong leader and was an admired employee by his team for his ability to trouble shoot problematic situations. In 2020, and after a long career, Ben retired from Ahlstrom-Munsko Paper (Nicolet) Company.

In his spare time, Ben enjoyed 4 wheeling, biking, walking, reading, and seeking knowledge. He loved working on projects around the house. He was a man of many talents and had the natural ability to build and repair most anything.

Ben will be remembered mostly by his quick wit and great sense of humor. He had a knack for telling a great story and making people laugh. He was a generous person and helped many people in need.

Ben is survived by his sisters: Carolyn (Lee) Johnson, Eau Claire, and Sarah (Bill) Pelishek, De Pere; and nephews: Sam Johnson, Mitch Johnson, Alex (Mariah) Pelishek, Andrew Pelishek, and Jared Pelishek. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Mary Wobosel, and brother Joseph Wobosel.

A private service will be held for the immediate family at a later date.

A special thank you to Unity Hospice and the staff at St. Vincent’s Hospital for their utmost care and compassion.
