Betty Lou Fontaine Obituary

Betty Lou M. Fontaine, age 96 ½, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, in her home surrounded by loving family members.

Betty Lou was born October 5, 1925, in Wabeno, daughter of the late Anton and Elsa (Heberer) Geiter. She was a graduate of Wabeno High School with the Class of 1943. On June 10, 1950, she was united in marriage to Fabian N. Fontaine in Wabeno. He preceded her in death on April 6, 2010.

Betty Lou was the matriarch of the family. She had worked as a salesclerk for different department stores over the years:  Farah Foods for 21 years, Sears & Roebuck for 20 years retiring in 1994. Betty Lou was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, CP Center and worked on elections polls for many years. And as most of you know she was an avid Packer fan.

Survivors include her four children and their spouses:  Gary & Kim Fontaine, Green Bay; Susan Meyer, Darboy; Dean & Terri Fontaine, Suamico; Todd & Barbara Fontaine, Abrams; six grandchildren: Kelly McOmber, Neil Mosher (Crystal), Cody (fiancée Dallas), Lindsey, Hannah, and Gavin Fontaine; nine great grandchildren: Warren, Andrew, James, Makenzie, Cole, Marley, Ahlena (Dallas’s daughter), Logan, Sebastian; one brother-in-law:  Anthony Fontaine, Wabeno; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Betty Lou was preceded in death by her parents: Anton & Elsa Geiter; one son-in-law: Joseph Meyer; one granddaughter: Brooke Fontaine; one brother: Robert Geiter; one sister: Virginia Bauers; and in-laws: Kate Geiter, Russell Bauers, Arnold & Margaret and William & Delores Fontaine, Bernadine & Russell Mallow, Berdella & Donald Plouff. and her special friend/neighbor Mary Naniot.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Friday, July 8, 2022, from 4pm to 8pm and Saturday, July 9, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 12 noon. A lunch will be available after the service. A Memorial Service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at the Lyndahl Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1350 Lombardi Ave., Green Bay. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Kimberly Swenson. Cremation has taken place.
