Bonnie Haverkorn Obituary

Bonnie M Haverkorn (Roland) age 88  of Ashwaubenon was called home and  reunited with loved ones on Friday May 15, 2026   She was born March 16, 1938 in Weyauwega WI to Adam Roland and Roxanne (Roland) Van Landghen    She was the eldest of 6 children and they grew up in Green Bay on Oneida Street  – she started her schooling  at Cormier School and graduated from Green Bay West High in 1956

She is survived by her husband Jim and their children Carol (Doug) McDaniel and Bart (Kelly) Haverkorn – grandchildren Brandon (Kristina), Saskia (Taylor), Atlas, Zykora, Kaleb, Erika and Evan and 5 great grandchildren, two sisters, Lavonne Carpenter and Sonya (Wayne) Black and many special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant son Adam Theodore, father Adam, mother Roxanne, two brothers- Gary Roland and Don Roland – one sister- Diane Link. In laws Florence and Ted Haverkorn – brother-in-law Pat Haverkorn and a great grandchild Rowen Haverkorn

Bonnie will be remembered for several things she dedicated her life to besides being a devoted mother and wife, it may surprise you just how gifted she was.  She was very active in her church.  She was a charter member of Calvary Lutheran Church in 1952. Was President of the Luther League, sang in the choir, and even taught Sunday school for multiple years. She married the love of her life Jim at Calvary Lutheran Church June 6,1964 and just missed celebrating 62 years of marriage.

Bonnie was quite involved in her community in several ways. She started working at Krider Drug Store in 1956 and worked there until 1966. After her high school graduation she started taking dance lessons at Arthur Murray dance studio and at age 22 became a dance instructor- she was an instructor for private lessons in her home and  for NWTC,  UWGB and the YWCA  She taught the love of her life  Jim how to dance and at times they would team teach together. She stopped giving lessons at the age of 80.

She was a stay-at-home mom but also became a sales representative for multiple companies most famous for selling Amway, Penny Rich Bras and Natureslim.

In 1974 they built their dream home in Ashwaubenon and never left. Very proud of what they built together. Many memories of children, pets and family get togethers at their home. During this time, she became secretary and vice president of her husband’s business - Jim Haverkorn Construction Inc and owned and managed along with her son, Fun and Games in Bay Park Square mall

Bonnie never complained, even when she was in the joke Jim told.  She would give a smile and a soft laugh to show you that she appreciated you.

She enjoyed many hours by herself reading and enjoyed rug hooking, cross-country skiing and for a few years making wine with friends. She was a very devoted Green Bay Packer fan and Milwaukee Brewer fan – not only did she attend home games with Jim but also travelled around the U.S. with Jim and others to many away games. When the opportunity came to venture farther from home, she enjoyed several trips to many of the Caribbean Islands, Mexico and Hawaii.

When she needed time alone one of her favorite pastimes was fishing! On water or ice.  She had her own Jon boat that she could row out onto any body of water to relax and reflect   She did this every summer for over 20 plus years while spending a week at Kelly Lake.  This was her get away place. She fished whenever she had a chance despite all the waves from the numerous water skiers and tubers while listening to the Brewers on her headset. I am sure you can imagine her right now sitting in her Jon boat with God by her side waiting to catch that special fish. She will be missed but not forgotten

Special credit should be given to Jim, Carol and Bart for their decision to keep her at home and care for her. Their dedication to being with her up to the end shows just how much this family loved her
