Bonnie Monahan Obituary

Bonnie Monahan (age 80), loving wife of William Monahan, passed away on Friday June 24, 2022, at Aurora BayCare Medical Center. She was born on November 5, 1941, the first of 5 children for Jerald and Emma (Payette) Maloney in Pound WI. Her siblings are Delores (Mike) Hanrahan, George (significant other Karen) Maloney, Trisha (Dale) Rysewyk, and Marty (Bev) Maloney.

Bonnie had the privilege of being the last baby born in a home on the kitchen table in Pound. She graduated from Coleman High School in 1959. Bonnie attended college in Minnesota for one year before moving to Milwaukee seeking employment. Instead, she ran into the love of her life, Bill. They were married on September 14, 1963, and recently celebrated their 64th anniversary. They settled in Ashwaubenon for the majority of their years before moving to De Pere.

She was blessed with three boys: Michael (Kim), Chad, and Eric (Lisa) Monahan. Then further blessed with four granddaughters: Meghan (Adam) Angell, Macie, Mya, and Madelyn. She has a huge, loving group of family, including two fraternal sisters-in-law (Katie & Ed Felker and Mary Lou & Oscar Wehausen), cousins, nieces, nephews, and more.

Bonnie drove school bus for Lamers for 27 years. She loved to travel and spent her winters with Bill in Panama City Beach, FL every year, where she had a large group of friends, played bingo/cribbage/cards, swam, and spent time in the sun.

She loved spending time with her beautiful granddaughters and family & friends, having old-fashions with olives, and finding great supper clubs.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, brothers-in-law (Mike Hanrahan, Ed Felker, and Oscar Wehausen), and daughter-in-law (Kim Monahan).

Come celebrate her life at Nativity of Our Lord Parish on Thursday, June 30, 2022. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the services at 5:00 p.m.  Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev.
