Carol L. Christensen (Eberlein), age 92, Green Bay, Wisconsin, died on Friday, December 11, 2020. She was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin on October 3, 1928 to Fred and Edna (Baerwald) Eberlein.
Carol was a 1946 graduate of Green Bay West High School. It was exciting for the family that five generations were West High school graduates. Northwest Engineering was her first employment after graduation. On February 12, 1949, she married Gerald N. Christensen at First Presbyterian Church. Carol and Gerald celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary in 2013. Gerald preceded Carol in death on February 16, 2013.
Carol and Gerald were members of Bethel Lutheran Church for many years, where Carol was happily involved in their large choir and director of two children’s choirs. Carol was church secretary for over five years and was active in the church women’s and quilters groups. Returning to First Presbyterian Church, where they were married, has been an extremely happy time where she continued her church involvement.
Carol worked at Green Bay Packaging as a secretary in the Sales Credit Department for over 20 years. Carol’s “fun jobs” were at Dehn’s Ice Cream while her children were young and Beernstsen’s Candies after retirement.
Many happy memories for Carol and her family and friends were at a special place, the cottage at Half Moon Lake. Some of Carols hobbies and interests were; tending her flower gardens, knitting hats and scarfs for family members, distributing church programs to children she would never know, baking cookies for a cookie tin that was never empty, making cream puffs and other dessert delights such as rosettes and ableskiver.
Carol is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law and their families David and Mona Christensen and their children, Paul and Elise; Russell and Linda Christensen and their children, Matthew (Andrea); Nathan; and Teri (Nate) Miller and greatgrandchildren, twins, Harrison and Malia Christensen; Sullivan and Savannah Miller. She is further survived by her brother-in-law, Harland Merrell; and nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, parents; sister and brother-in-law Lois and Dean Batha; sister-in-law, Laverne; brother-in-law, Lowell Christianson and sister-in-law, Marilyn Merrell.
Private family services will be held.
