Carolyn E. Arcand, age 91, Gillet, formally of Green Bay, passed away peacefully in her home, Friday December 16, 2022.
She was born March 10, 1931, in Green Bay, daughter of the late Harold and Edythe (Black) Falk. She graduated from West High School in 1949. On September 2, 1950, she was united in marriage to Donald J. Arcand. He preceded her in death on October 7, 1998.
Mom loved nature and would sit by the pond or on her deck watching the deer, turkeys, rabbits and especially birds as they went about their daily activities. She loved her daily cart rides around the property. Through the woods, to the river and back. She loved when Allan took her flying in his plane to see all the fall colors and more.
Carolyn also loved to travel with dad and later with each of us kids to Hawaii, Florida, Pennsylvania, New Orleans, Canada and more. She was an amazing artist. She loved to paint and draw. Early on she mostly did pencil sketches. The drawings that we still have are incredibly detailed, as if the subject came to life on the page. For many years she turned to painting wood art. Dad would cut out the designs she requested, and she busied herself painting them into wonderful works of art.
Mom was an avid sports fan. She lived more than 50 years on Stadium Drive and enjoyed parking cars in her yard. She loved meeting the Packer fans that graced her home, some for over 30 years. But she was especially fond of hockey. For years she attended the Gamblers games. She was overjoyed when her granddaughter Autumn took up the sport and would travel regularly to watch her play in Minnesota.
Carolyn lived a wonderful life, she had seven loving children, each different in personality and style. But she loved us all the same. She loved all her natural and step grand and great grandchildren. We were lucky to call her mom.
She is survived by daughters: Cathy Nelsen, Oconto, Barbara Arcand, Oconto, Lisa Aschenbrenner, De Pere; sons and daughter in law: Steve (Debbie), Suamico, Allan (Donna), Gillett, Curt (Lori), Rochester MN, and Dan (Colleen) Arcand, Gillett; sister in laws: Ruth and Maureen Falk; grandchildren: Ben Nelsen, Stacy (Matt) Trybula, Jennifer (Adam) Radloff, Daniel Arcand, Autumn Arcand, and William Aschenbrenner; step grandchildren: Rodney Walton, Ashley and Trudy Schadrie, Sabrina (Jason) Golenberke, John (Leslie) Block; three great grandchildren and nine step great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by son in law: Joseph Aschenbrenner, grandsons: Nicolas Nelsen and Jeremiah Arcand; great granddaughter: Adrianna; sister: Adele Phillips; brothers: Harold, Raymond, William, Ernie, and Allen Falk.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 12:30 pm at Nativity of Our Lord Parish, 2270 S. Oneida St, Green Bay with Father Ted Hendricks officiating. Visitation will occur at Nativity beginning at 9:30 am until the time of service. Entombment will take place at Allouez Mausoleum.
