Cheryl Ann Duca-Maughan, 78, of Suamico died on Monday, November 15, 2021, at her home.
Cheryl was born October 24, 1943, in Green Bay to the late Ralph and Eleanor (Roeser) Boettcher. She attended Cathedral Grade School and was a 1961 graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy in Green Bay. On June 14, 1969, she married Robert Duca, they had two children together. In 1993, she married Gordon Maughan, he preceded her in death in 2013. Cheryl worked for over 15 years as a secretary for JPL Lab in Pasadena, CA. After her daughter died in 2011, Cheryl dedicated herself to helping raise her nine grandchildren.
Cheryl was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church. She was an avid sports fan of all Wisconsin sports and was proud that she hardly ever missed watching or listening to a game. Cheryl enjoyed studying her family’s genealogy and driving around the state to different cemeteries to find the headstones.
Cheryl is survived by her son: Scott (Jamie) Duca; her son-in-law: Gary Savona; her nine grandchildren: Kali, John, Sam, Jenna, Emma, Sara, Josh, Ava, and Chloe; two step-grandsons: Tyler Jesse and Tim Jesse; one sister-in-law: Janice Boettcher; and two nephews: Brett Boettcher and David Boettcher. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Gordon Maughan; daughter: Sue Savona; and two brothers: Fred Boettcher and Clark Boettcher.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1pm on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, with Rev. Matt Simonar officiating. Burial will be at Allouez Catholic Cemetery. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at the church from 10am until the time of service at 1pm.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Aurora BayCare Hospital and Aurora at Home Hospice for their care and compassion that gave to her and especially to her grandson, John, for being her special angel and showing her compassion and love over the past few months.
