Corene Uher Obituary

Corene J. Uher, age 91, of Green Bay, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2022, at Oak Park Place, Green Bay.

Corene was born September 28, 1930, in Clarkson, Nebraska, daughter of the late Joseph and Hilda (Cinfel) Bukacek.  On June 9, 1951, she was united in marriage to Donald G. Uher in Clarkson. Corene worked as a CNA at Bornemann Nursing Home for several years where she took great pride in her work.

Corene and Don enjoyed an early retirement together and were able to travel to many places in their RV. They brought their mothers along for many of their trips with finally deciding to winter in Mesa, Arizona. Corene also enjoyed her friend group at the YMCA and Womens guild at the church. Her grandchildren meant the world to her and they will fondly remember playing Crazy 8, Slap Jack and Dominoes with her.

Survivors include her husband:  Don Uher, Green Bay; one son and daughter-in-law:  Tom & Kitty Uher, De Pere; one daughter and son-in-law:  Donna & Jerry Liesch, Green Bay; five grandchildren:  Scott (Donna) Liesch, Heather (Justin) Hermans, Will (Katie) Uher, Ben (Amanda) Uher, Aimee (Justin) Dequaine; seven great grandchildren:  Jaden & Sawyer Liesch, Madison & Carter Hermans, Joseph & Aiden Uher, Ava Dequaine; two sisters:  Linda (Ken) Richards, Parker, CO; Joan Lydick, Phoenix, AZ; one nephew:  David (Jamie) Lydick; one niece:  Jennifer (Mike) Comer; one aunt:  Daphne Fayman, Omaha, NE; as well as other relatives and friends. (Reggie, her guinea pig). Corene was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Hilda Bucacek.

Your mother is always with you. She’s the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street. She’s the smell of certain foods you remember, flowers you picked and the perfume that she wore. She’s the cool hand on your brow when you’re not feeling well. She’s your breath in the air on a cold winters day, the sound of the rain that lulls you to sleep. Your mother lives inside your laughter, she is crystallized in every tear drop. She is your first love, your first friend and nothing on earth can separate you.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2022, at First United Church of Christ (509 S. Webster Ave.), Green Bay. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Adam Westrich, with entombment to take place at Nicolet Memorial Gardens at a later time.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Friday, June 24, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.
