Dale Pearson Obituary

Dale Charles Pearson PE, 72, of Green Bay passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Woodside Villa in Ashwaubenon. He endured many medical issues in the last four years and in early 2024 was diagnosed with Primary Progressive Aphasia, a form of dementia.

Dale was born on August 29, 1952, in Racine, WI. He grew up in Racine and was a graduate of Wm Horlick High School. In high school Dale was a good student and became serious about bicycling, skiing and the saxophone; all hobbies he continued throughout his life.

He graduated from UW-Madison, College of Engineering-Mechanical, receiving his Bachelor of Science degree. Dale loved being an engineer.  His career spanned 48 years. In 1997 he started his own company, Facility Engineering, and closed the business with his retirement in 2023. There are numerous buildings, businesses, municipal facilities, school districts, churches and more that now use Dale’s HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection designs. His work was in Wisconsin and 14 other U.S. states, Saudi Arabia and Japan. Dale was a proud Life member and officer in ASHRAE, a professional engineering society.

On October 8, 1977, he married Carol Kirchner, a studious, smart farm girl from Kenosha. Dale and Carol were good partners. He relied on her to find keys, shoes, “get going” and she always supported his work and many interests. Dale’s enthusiasm for his hobbies included convincing his new bride to tour Wisconsin on their bicycles. Carol’s excitement wasn’t as robust; as she may have tossed her bike in the woods. They bought their first home in South Bend Indiana, moved to Sheboygan Falls and finally Allouez where Dale and Carol raised their family and lived for 38 years.

Dale loved his children Peter and Greta. They traveled as a family to see America, learn history, have fun and explore. He encouraged them to study, go to church, play instruments and pursue their interests. He took immense pride in his role as a father, and grandfather.

As a dedicated member of St. John Lutheran, Dale assisted the pastor in worship services, played his saxophone and consulted on the property management. He had an active performing life performing with his tenor sax in the AV Band (Allouez Village Band), De Pere Community Band, Last of the Big Bands, Bay Area Big Band, and 5 Hits & A Miss saxophone quintet.

Dale is survived by his wife: Carol Pearson; two children: Peter (Zara Wladawsky) Pearson, and Greta Pearson; grandchildren: Liliana, Harmony, and Melody; brother and sister: Gene Pearson, and Diane (Danny Ostrowski) Pearson; Carol’s siblings: Jean Reuter, Jon (Jeanne) Kirchner, David (Judy) Kirchner, and Karen (Rich) Puder. Dale was preceded in death by his parents: Wayne and Evelyn Pearson; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Richard and Beverly Kirchner.

A memorial service to celebrate Dale’s life will be held at St. John Lutheran, 2700 Babcock Road, with Rev. Josh Fite officiating. Friends and relatives are invited to greet the family at the church on Friday, October 3, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A period of visitation will also be held on Saturday, October 4, at 10:00 AM, immediately preceding the 11:00 AM Celebration of Life service.

A sincere thank you to the administration and staff of Woodside’s Villa 1 for all the loving care they gave Dale and the support they offered Carol during Dale’s stay.

The family wishes to also extend a heartfelt thank you to Barbara and Mark Wilson, Larry and Debbie Frazier, Kimberly and Andy Smithson, and David and Sherry Speth for their kindness, support and friendship given over the years.
