Darwin D. Bohm of Green Bay passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at the age of 89.
Dar was born on October 31, 1934 in Shawano, an only child of Ervin and Mary (Singer) Bohm. He was very close to his aunts and uncles growing up. Dar was very active in sports and played football, basketball and baseball. He was also a member of the Army Reserves.
Dar was employed at the Brown County Courthouse for over 35 years and also worked part time at the Red Owl grocery store as a night manager. He liked to stay busy and kept his lawn, cars, garage, and house immaculate. Dar liked to hunt and fish. Many fish were caught on Shawano Lake where the family had a cottage for many years.
Dar married the former Janet Anderson on November 5, 1955 in Shawano. She preceded him in death on October 18, 2016. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a large group of family and friends. He was a long-time member of Calvary Lutheran Church.
Survivors include: one son Scott Bohm, Green Bay; one daughter and son-in-law Laurie (John) Hendzel, Oconto Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents Ervin and Mary Bohm; his wife Janet; his mother-in-law and her husband Mildred (Charlie) Kowalski.
Dar’s wish is to be cremated with a private family gathering. He wants us all to celebrate because this is a happy time, not a sad one. He is going home to be with Janet and his Lord and Savior.
Thank you to The Cottages Memory Care in Oconto Falls and to Unity Hospice for their wonderful care and friendship to Dad.
