David G. Brown, beloved companion of the late Kathleen DeBaker, of Green Bay, Wisconsin, formerly of Warwick, RI and Greenwich, CT, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 28, 2026 at the age of 80.
Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Joseph J. and Bella M. (Paquin) Brown.
Following David’s graduation from Bishop Hendricken High School and Boston College, he joined the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. David kept involved in the military as past Commander of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 3 and the American Legion Post 11. He was a member of the veterans Patriot Guard Riders and volunteered at veteran funerals.
David was a tinsmith, leathersmith, shoe repairman, gunsmith, blacksmith and jack of all trades. David was the blacksmith at the Heritage Hill State Historical Park for many years. He loved sailing and spending time as an outdoorsman. David volunteered many seasons at Lambeau Field, running concessions and doing community work.
He will be dearly missed by his son, Christopher of Green Bay, his sister, Janice Sylvestre and many nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Z. Brown and his sister, Constance Hathaway.
Visiting hours will be held Monday, May 4 from 4-6 p.m. at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Ave, Green Bay, followed by a nondenominational Christian service and Military Honors at 6:30 p.m.
