David Cohea Obituary

David J. Cohea, Sr., beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother, and friend (age 72) passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at St. Mary's Hospital, Green Bay, WI. He was born to Melvin and Norma (Holley) Cohea on December 4, 1950, in Waterloo, IA. Dave graduated from Clinton High School in Clinton, IA. He became a Certified Athletic Trainer for the LA Dodgers farm teams, and later attended St Mary's University, and received his bachelor’s degree in Sports Medicine. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran serving in the Army from 1970 to 1976. He married Margaret Klein on September 15, 1979, and together they had 3 children.

Dave enjoyed family time the most. He enjoyed watching Packer Football and Los Angeles Dodger Baseball.

Dave is survived by his wife of 43 years Maggie; son Dave (Amy) Cohea, Jr. of Mesa, AZ; daughters: Susie (Jake) Bielefeldt of Queen Creek, AZ, Meganne (Shaun) Cox of Dagsboro, DE and their two children Griffin and Jameson; and Janet (Kevin) Nichols and their two daughters Kayla and Annaleise; his sister Sandra (Tom) Cohea-Weible; many granddogs and his own, special guard dog Lenny. He is also survived by many friends, cousins, and brother-in-laws. He was preceded in death by his parents: Melvin and Norma Cohea; and his mother-in-law: Oneta Klein. Immediate burial has taken place, and a Celebration of Life in honor of Dave will be held in June.
