David Leon Scovell, son of John and Ruth Scovell, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2021 at Unity Hospice Center of the ravages of the autoimmune disease Scleroderma.
Known affectionately by his father as David Leon Toby Twirp Stinky Scovell, he grew up in Green Bay and graduated from West High School in 1965. In his young adult years, he enjoyed playing basketball and baseball and making mischief with his lifelong friends. His true passion was music, and he could write music and play the piano without any formal training. He often was the entertainment at parties and gatherings.
Dave felt adventurous and moved to Alaska where he spent 10 years working on the Alaskan pipeline. After he made his fortune, he returned to Green Bay where he worked for a company that did industrial flooring. He retired when he was diagnosed with Scleroderma. He spent his retirement years fishing, watching every movie at Family Video, writing music and playing piano.
Preceding him death were his parents John M and Ruth Scovell and his older sister Nancy (Scovell) Vincent. He is survived by his younger sister Judy Scovell and her husband Kurt Nesgood.
A celebration of life will be held October 30th at Lenny's Bar, 431 North Broadway from 1:00-5:00 pm.
