Denise (Cosgrove) Poynter

Denise Poynter, age 90, of Green Bay passed away Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Jack & Engrid Meng Hospice House, De Pere.

Denise was born August 2, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Dennis and Isabel (Finegan) Cosgrove.  She was a graduate of the academy of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Broadlea in Goshen, NY.  Denise served in the U.S. Marine corps from 1956 – 1958.  She received her Masters degree from St. Norbert college in Green Bay in 1970.

Denise was an avid book reader.  She enjoyed horseback riding and ice skating in her younger years.  Denise enjoyed reading books, knitting and traveling.

Survivors include 3 daughters Elaine Poynter, Marilyn Jacobsen and Debora Poynter, 5 grandchildren Jennifer, Doug (Kaleigh), Skye, Randy and Brandon, and 6 great grandchildren Alethea, Aiden, Annalie, Malaki, Ember and Inaya. Denise was preceded in death by her parents Dennis & Isabel Cosgrove, maternal and paternal grandparents, one daughter Suzanne (Poynter) Gauthier and her beloved Aunt Anne.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2026 at Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
