Donald L. Gossen, Jr.

Donald (Don) L. Gossen, Jr., age 49, entered Heaven on Saturday August 22, 2020 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, Wi. after a 6-week battle with liver failure. He was born in Appleton, Wi. on November 4, 1970. He graduated from Ashwaubenon High School in 1989. Don enjoyed cooking, playing electric guitar, movies, and walking. Don is survived by his mother Diane Van Gompel Wilkerson and her husband Tom, Brothers; Chad Gossen and his wife Heather, Bill Wilkerson and his wife Charity, James Wilkerson and his wife Katie, and Sgt. Paul T. Wilkerson and his wife Ashley. Chad’s children - Stella, Raina and Max Gossen. Bill’s children - Landon and Evan Wilkerson. James son Brady Wilkerson. Don’s stepmother Lori Scott Heideman Gossen, stepbrothers Jeremy Heideman and his wife Sarah, and Daniel Heideman, and stepsister Michelle Robley and her husband Chris. Jeremy’s children - Alaina Wichterman, Karley and Morgan Heideman. Daniel’s children- Abigail and Sophia Heideman. Michelle’s son Andy Zimmer. He is also survived by his many other Aunts, Uncles, cousins, family and friends. Don is preceded in death by his father Donald (Don) L. Gossen, Sr., grandparents Marvin and Gladys Gossen and Henry and Harriet Van Gompel; Uncle Thomas Van Gompel; cousins Cory Gossen, Pam (Van Gompel) DeBruin, and Kevin Van Gompel. Don’s family would like to thank each and every one of you who supported us through this difficult time with all your love and prayers! You’ll never know how much it helped to pull us through. We also want to thank the hospital staff at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital of Appleton and Froedtert Hospital of Milwaukee for your compassionate care of Don and his family, you were amazing! At this time, we’ve chosen to wait on a Memorial Service for Don and will let you know when plans are finalized.
