Donald G. Uher, age 94, passed away peacefully on May 6, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and devotion to family.
Donald was born on July 13, 1931, in rural Nebraska to Marie (Krauer) Uher-Zrust and Emil Uher. After Emil’s passing, Marie remarried William Zrust, who became a positive mentor and devoted stepfather to Donald.
Donald grew up in Clarkson, Nebraska, before his career with the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad brought him and his family to Green Bay, Wisconsin. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Corene J. (Bukacek) Uher, who preceded him in death in 2022. Together they built a loving home in Allouez, Wisconsin, where family was always at the center of their lives and where they shared many years of love and partnership.
He is survived by his children, Donna Liesch and Thomas Uher; daughter-in-law, Kitty Uher and son-in-law Jerry Liesch; grandchildren, Scott, Heather, Willie, Ben, and Aimee; and great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Jaden, Madison, Carter, Joseph, Aiden, Ava, and Andre.
Donald will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His quiet strength, steady presence, strong work ethic, and deep love for his family will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A funeral service will be held at First United Church of Christ (509 S. Webster Ave.) on Thursday, May 14, at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will take place at Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum at a later time.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. Thursday until the time of the services at 11:00 a.m.
