Donna Rae (Jahn) Giese, 85, died peacefully on Saturday, January 27, 2018, in Green Bay, WI where she resided at Bellevue Retirement Community and Assisted Living. Donna was born in Green Bay on March 8, 1932 to the late Irvin A. and Helen C. (Parish) Jahn. Donna graduated with honors from Green Bay West High School in 1950 where she was active in Drama and Theater, serving as the first President of Masque and Gavel. She married Robert J. Giese, from De Pere, WI on December 23, 1950 in Rolla, Missouri, where her husband served in the Army. They remained married for 55 years until Robert's death in 2005. After her three children were all in school, Donna returned to school herself, graduating in 1967 as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and continued in this career for over thirty years, earning retirement status in 1997 from both St. Vincent and Bellin Hospitals. Donna enjoyed raising Standardbred race horses with Robert, gardening, swimming and especially her last dog, Shadow and her cat, Baby who remained her late life companion. She also served as PTA President for Cormier Grade School, the first school in the village of Ashwaubenon. Donna was also active as a Girl Scout Leader. She became an accomplished and talented pianist at a young age and continued this passion until her last days, as she played for sing-alongs at her retirement community.
Donna is survived by her two daughters, Diane L. (Kurt) Hamil and Kathryn J. (Howard) Morois, both of Green Bay; her son, Randall S. Giese, of Portage, WI; her grandsons, Jacob D. (Blaire) Morois of Green Bay and Adam C. Hamil of San Diego, CA; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Arthur and Ingrid Morois. Donna is also survived by her siblings, Nancy L. Tomcheck, Carole M. Stowe, Barbara L. Vander Missen and Robert I. Jahn, all of the Green Bay area.
In addition to her husband Robert, she is preceded in death by her parents Irvin A. and Helen C. (Parish) Jahn.
Visitation will take place at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue, on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 10:00 am until the time of memorial service at 12:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy, memories, and photos of Donna may be shared with her family on her tribute page at www.lyndahl.com.
