Donna Jansen Obituary

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Donna L. Jansen, age 90, of Green Bay, WI entered into eternal rest surrounded by her family on Wednesday March 26, 2025, at Woodside Manor. She was born in Waupun, WI on September 25,1934 to the late Michael and Valeria (Kanzenbach) Mucha. She graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1952 and attended Wisconsin University of La Crosse. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in physical education in June 1956. She taught physical education as well as preschool for many years. She married Hollister Jansen on August 17, 1957, in Beaver Dam, WI., they then moved to East De Pere. Together they were married 59 years, he preceded her in death on November 14, 2016. She and Holly lived in East De Pere for two years and then moved to Green Bay where Holly was teaching. Donna retired from teaching at that time to raise their family.

Donna enjoyed watercolor, crafts, and activities. She was very involved with her church, First Presbyterian Church. Over the years she served as a Deacon, an Elder, a Sunday School Teacher, Co-chairman of the Funeral Committee, President of her circle, and Bazaar Chairman. In addition to her involvement at church she served on the Board at Fort Howard Apartments from 1985 until her passing. Donna was also the Director and taught at the YWCA Nursery for six years. She treasured her many friendships at church and in the community.

Donna is survived by four children: Kathryn (Greg) Horn, Lower Gwynedd, PA, Jim (Lori) Jansen, Green Bay, WI, Nancy (David) Beardsley, Geneva, IL, and John Jansen, Green Bay, WI.; Grandchildren: Jenna (Michael) Mandale, Katelin Horn, Philadelphia, PA, Abby (Ryan) Fritze, Green Bay, WI, Brooke (Gio) DiDomenico, Castle Rock, CO, and Andrew (Alex) Beardsley, Elgin, IL;  Five great-grandchildren: Giuliana and David DiDomenico, Emily and Samuel Mandale, Sutter Fritze; She is further survived by one brother: Michael (Lynda) Mucha and their children, Julie (Mark) Hackman, Racine, WI, and Scott (Chaundra) Mucha, Fort Collins, CO., and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Michael and Valeria Mucha; husband: Hollister; one daughter: Jane Jansen; brother: Larry Mucha; sister in-law: Loise Roberts; and in-laws: Jim and Jessie Jansen.

A funeral service will be held Saturday March 29, 2025, at 3:30 pm at First Presbyterian Church, 200 S. Ashland Avenue, Green Bay. with Pastor Katie Estes officiating. Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm. Burial will take place at a later date at Riverside Cemetery, Fox Lake, WI.
