Donna Mertens

Donna Mertens, 92, Green Bay, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Sycamore Lodge in Luxemburg.

Donna was born on March 21, 1934 in Brown County to the late Leslie and Loretta (Heim) Connelly. She graduated from Green Bay West High School. On July 10, 1954, she married Clarence Mertens, he preceded her in death on February 5, 2001.  Donna worked for the Brown County Mental Health Department. Donna enjoyed baking, crocheting, the neighborhood jam sessions, playing the organ and accordion, going up to the cottage, and cherished time with her grandchildren.

Donna is survived by her children: Cheryl Jerovetz, Bruce (Victoria) Mertens, Brenda (Rick) Gille, and Julie (Jim) Mohr; grandchildren: James “Jimmy”, Sean (Lynn), Leslie (Wade), Brandon (Jessica), Bronson (Courtney), Brock (Katelyn), Cashton (special friend Madelyn), Justin, Joe (Amy), Nicholas (Kylee), Cody (Haley), and Colt (Samantha); great grandchildren: Sebastian, Penelope, Wyatt, Will, Madisyn, Connelly, Walker B., Bennett, Briggston, Braeya, Parker, Mavrick, Paisley, Case, Breckyn, Sawyer, Maggie, and Walker J.  She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Donna is preceded in death by her parents: Leslie and Loretta Connelly; husband: Clarence Mertens; son-in-law: Bruce Jerovetz; granddaughter: Brooke Boulanger; sister: Sally (Robert) Barrette; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

A funeral service to celebrate Donna’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at 11:00am at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, 140 S. Monroe Ave, with Rev. Ryan Krueger officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at the church from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00am.
