Doris C. Plate, 96, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. She was born in Green Bay on June 2, 1929 to Gustave and Martha Rosenbaum, nee Ihlenfeldt. She was baptized on June 23, 1929 at Morrison Zion Lutheran Church in Morrison, WI. Doris was confirmed on May 10, 1942. Her confirmation verse was Revelation 2:10, “Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life”. Doris graduated from De Pere High School, class of 1946. On September 2, 1950, she married Elmer L. Treichel at Morrison Zion Lutheran Church. He passed away on September 20, 1986. On February 3, 1990, she married Eugene “Gene” Plate at Morrison Zion Lutheran Church. They were members at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Green Bay and De Pere, WI. Gene passed away on May 27, 2019.
Doris was employed at H.C. Prange in the Credit Department. For 18 years she was employed at FMC Corporation in Accounting and at Northwest engineering Company in Green Bay. She later worked at Camera Corner in Green Bay. Doris volunteered at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Bellin Hospital and was a volunteer usher at the Weidner Center in Green Bay, WI.
Doris is survived by two daughters from her first marriage: Barbara (Dan) Natzke of Wayside, and Karen (Bob) Bain of Ledgeview; five grandchildren, Jason (Renee) Natzke, Jeremy (Heather) Natzke, Jenna (Jacob) Nonemacher, Brendon Bain and Mitchell (Jamie Falk) Bain. She also has a step-daughter, Gretchen Blumrich, six great-grandchildren, Ella, Cora, Cait, Caylee Jo, Allie and Jordy; and three step-grandchildren, Kelly (Chris) Young, Cory Welsh and Landon Plate; five step-great-grandchildren, McKenna, Alana, Easton, Rylan and Nora, and many, many friends. In addition to her two husbands and parents, Doris was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Audrey and Donny Nohr; sister and brother-in-law, Myrtle and Ted Lemke, sister-in-laws, Elva (Hanny) Lemke, Milly (Gilly) Siebert, Verona (Wally) Kiekaefer, brother-in-laws Orville (Dory) Schroeder, Wilbert (Evelyn) Treichel, step-daughter, Kris Plate, and great-grandson, Jack.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 4, 2026 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 2066 Lawrence Drive, De Pere, WI, from 9:00 am until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 am with Rev. John Parlow officiating. Interment at Morrison Zion Lutheran Church in Morrison, WI.
