Dorothy M. (Frisque) Bertrand

Dorothy M. Bertrand, age 88, of Green Bay passed away Monday, April 27, 2026 at home with her loving family by her side. 

Dorothy was born January 31, 1938 in Luxemburg, daughter of the late Michael and Catherine (Stade) Frisque.  During her childhood she met the love of her life, although she didn’t know it at the time who happened to be her neighbor, Marvin. He did odd jobs for her parents and would tease Dorothy that he knew her parents before she did.

Dorothy was a graduate of Luxemburg High School with the Class of 1956.  She continued her education by enrolling in a Bookkeeping course while she stayed in Green Bay. Later she was employed at Pranges as a bookkeeper.  She and Marvin kept in touch while he was in Service and when she graduated they got engaged.  On September 7, 1957 they wed at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Luxemburg. A year later their daughter Pennie was born in 1958. In 1960 they welcomed their son, Patrick. Third but not least their daughter Brenda was born in 1963.

Dorothy devoted her life to her family and her faith, raising three children with love and patience, while holding various jobs. She was a extremely hard worker and retired in 1998. Dorothy was an avid gardener especially the love of her flowers and a fantastic cook.  Dorothy enjoyed ……traveling with Marvin throughout the United States especially Branson MO. She was even invited on stage by her favorite singer.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband Marvin, her three children Pennie Bertrand and her children Jason Dingeldein, Eric (Alyssa) Dingeldein, Patrick Bertrand, Brenda (Steve) Hirt and their children Michael (Juli) Hirt, Thomas Hirt, Mitchell Hirt. Great granddaughter Amirah Collins (special friend Brendan) Sisters in law Joan Bertrand, Annie (Tom) Walsh, Pat Hoerig and many nieces and nephews.  Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Michael & Catherine Frisque, parent-in-law Henry (Laura) Bertrand, brothers Roman (Arena) Frisque, James Frisque, John (Rosie) Frisque and sister Magdeline (Henry) Dunning, Brother in laws Robert (Elizabeth) Bertrand, Richard Bertrand, and sister-in-law Marion Thiel and one nephew and two nieces.

Dorothy’s love, kindness and strength will be missed beyond measure by her loving husband, children, grandsons and great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.  Entombment will take place following services.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the Mausoleum from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services at 11:00 a.m.
