Edmund C Kerker

Edmund Carl Kerker (Papa), age 90, of Green Bay, peacefully passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021 surrounded by his family who adored him.

Ed was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, hunter and fisher, who dedicated many years of his life to helping others and bringing light and happiness to those who he came into contact with.

He was born on January 15, 1931 to Adolf Kerker and Elizabeth Kerker (Regal), in Oconto County, WI. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife (Minnie Kerker) and several siblings. Ed is survived by one brother: Harold Kerker, one child: Ernest Kerker, and his four grandchildren: Ed (Buddy) Kerker, Ernest (Tex) Kerker, Evan Kerker and Ethan Kerker. Ed also adored his five great grandchildren: Madison Kerker, Jordan Kerker, Kylee Kerker, Axel Kerker, and Addison Kerker who all called him Big Papa. He is also survived by Christine Kalkofen who is the mother of Ed’s grandchildren and like a daughter to Papa, and Nicole (Nikki) Laurent who is the mother of his great grandson, Jordan, Nicole was like a granddaughter to Papa. He is also survived by many extended family members who he loved dearly.

Ed (Papa) loved to spend time with family, hunt, fish and play the penny machines at the casino. Papa had a big heart and was always willing to help others, the kind of guy who would give you the shirt off of his back. If you needed something or someone, you could always count on Ed. Family meant everything to him and he would always arrive hours early for weddings, graduations, birthdays, cookouts and or when you needed a hunting or fishing partner, or if you had scrap metal for him to come pick up. Ed also enjoyed grabbing something to eat with his friends at The Golden Basket or Golden Coral.

In more recent years, Ed spent most of his time with the great grandchildren who were his pride and joy. He cherished every moment spent with them and the rest of his family and he will truly be missed long and far.

Funeral arrangements will be held Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Lyndahl Funeral Home located at 1350 Lombardi Ave, Green Bay, WI 54304. Visitation will be from 12:00pm to 2:00pm and the service will commence at 2:00pm to 3:00pm following the visitation. Ed’s burial will be held at 10:00am the following day August 23, 2021 at the Chase Cemetery located at 1688 County Rd C, Sobieski, WI 54171.
