Eileen J. (Malchow) Olson, 86, of Suamico, known to many as “Auntie”, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Tender Hearts Assisted Living in Green Bay.
Eileen was born on May 1, 1936 in Suamico to the late Gordon E. and Ethel L. (Terrio) Malchow. Eileen is a graduate from Pulaski High School. On May 19, 1956 she married Gordon L. Olson in Suamico. He preceded her in death on April 26, 2011. She was born, raised and lived on the family farm her entire life. Over the years, Eileen was a caregiver to many family members, and was an author of the Malchow family genealogy book. Family was everything to her, but she was also a career woman, working as an executive secretary.
Eileen had a strong faith that was important to her. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Suamico, and Heritage Church in Green Bay. She also served on the cemetery board in Suamico. Eileen was an avid deer hunter, fed the wildlife at her home, and contributed to many animal charities. She enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and was proud to be a Green Bay Packer season ticket holder.
She is survived by one brother and sister-in-law: Vernon (Elaine Brill) Malchow; children of her heart: Jan (Lynn) Malchow, Bert (Debbie) Malchow, and Julie (Malchow) Zeman; as well as other nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents: Gordon E. and Ethel L. Malchow; husband: Gordon L. Olson; one brother and two sisters-in-law: Edmund (Joyce) Malchow, and Claire Malchow; and other extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 pm on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Ave., Rev. Gerry Mathisen and Father David LaPlante will concelebrate the service. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 3:00 pm until the time of service at 5:00 pm. Burial will take place on Monday, February 13, 2023 at the Village of Suamico Cemetery.
