Eugene W. Priem Sr.

Eugene W. Priem Sr. went home to Jesus on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, with his family by his side at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, at the age of 90.

Eugene was born February 10, 1934, in Shawano, son of the late Viola Priem. On July 20, 1982, he married the love of his life, Cecilia Crain of Lebanon, Wi. She preceded him in death on November 30, 1999.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Rick Priem (Kelly Priem), Eugene Priem Jr. (Karen Befay), Randolph Priem (Mary) and Deborah Lallaman (Gordan Lallaman); grandchildren, Jessica Aguirre (Jeremy), Kristen Steeno, Amanda Bratz (James), Matthew Priem, Tyler Bratz (Teddi Jo), and Josiah Priem; step-grandchildren, Sylvia, Doug and Lauren; 14 great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Garett, Connor, Jaida, Zach, Hunter, Madisyn, Taliah, Kiara, Ashani, Gracie, Amara, Easton, and Eliza and a great-great grandchild. 

He will also be dearly missed by his friends from his home neighborhood who took exceptional care to ensure he and Gatsby had everything they needed.

Eugene grew up as a small-town farmer and enjoyed a non-indulgent lifestyle. Throughout his employment years he was an expert auto-technician and after retiring he traveled the country as a cross-country truck driver for a short time. Eugene was a loyal servant to God, first and foremost. He spent many hours dedicating his life to the Lord. He also enjoyed fishing, mainly on Shawano Lake, with his children and grandchildren, vintage cars and riding his motorcycle. He was an avid dog and bird lover and would regularly feed birds, who would come all year round, to visit his backyard. Throughout the years, Eugene had many loving dog companions. During his final years, Gatsby was his best friend.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 210 Oneida Street, Green Bay, with Rev. Paul Pett officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. The burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in De Pere on a later date.
