Eugene (Gene) V. Gohr

Eugene (Gene) V. Gohr passed away peacefully on July 3, 2023, at home in Green Bay, WI. He was born Nov. 30, 1938, to Vernon A. and Mabel M. (Strege) Gohr in Channing, Mich.

Gene had a true passion for bowling and spent his life both on the lanes and behind the scenes. He was a lane maintenance/mechanic at area bowling establishments and enjoyed 50 years as a league secretary. Along with six perfect games, his best series were heralded 824 and 804 both in 1978. He joined the non-pro Midwest Bowling Association Tour in the 1990s. Gene was elected to the local bowling hall of fame in 1986.

He is survived by his wife Tina; daughter Gena Casper-Gohr and Cory Casper of Monona; son Gregory and Kelly Gohr of De Pere; grandchildren Maya and Simone Casper, and Jacob Gohr; along with children Shanna, Suzanne and Michael.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Philip.

Private services were held.  A Celebration of Life will take place 2-4 p.m., Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Village Lanes, 3798 Velp Avenue.
