Florence “Flo” A. Craanen, 76, Ashwaubenon, passed away peacefully on March, 15, 2018, surrounded by her five children and husband of 51 years at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. She was born on August 12, 1941 to the late Adolph and Katherine (Kane) Herold in Green Bay. She spent her entire life in Green Bay, and attended Cathedral Grade School and St. Joseph’s Academy.
On October 1, 1966 she married William “Bill” Craanen at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year. They loved boating, camping and traveling. Flo and Bill traveled around the country and world on many vacations and adventures, making many close friends along with way. They recently moved out of their home and into assisted living together. Florence lovingly and patiently cared for her husband. Florence was a wonderful and loving mother, wife and grandmother, never forgetting a birthday and always making family gatherings and holidays special.
Florence was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church for forty years. She enjoyed volunteering at church, St. Vincent de Paul, Meals on Wheels and Bellin Hospital.
Florence is survived by her husband, Bill; children, Ann (John) Wolter of Woodbury, MN, Jennifer (Kyle) Holewinski of Oshkosh, Kurt Craanen of Appleton, Carrie (Joe) Buresh of Denmark and Doug Craanen; grandchildren, Joe, Nick and Will Wolter, John Holewinski, Brianna and Kasey Craanen, Jake, Kate and Kyle (Karissa) Buresh, Bobby and Bryce Craanen; brother, Roger (Marlene) Herold; sisters, Fran Kerkman, Pat (Bob) Lopresti and Mary (Rob) Kelly; sister in law, Carol Herold; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Gary Herold.
Visitation will take place on Monday, March 19, 2018 at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, March 20 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 9th Street, from 10:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Rev. Tim Shilcox will be officiating.
