After a life filled with love, faith, and service, Florence Christine Cuny, 94, was welcomed into her heavenly home on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Rennes Health and Rehab Center in De Pere.
Florence was born on August 9, 1930, in Chicago, IL, to Emil and Christine (Schmitz) Huebner. On June 9, 1951, she married Richard Cuny in Chicago. He preceded her in death on December 27, 2005.
A dedicated wife and mother, Florence took great pride in her family and was a devoted servant of the Catholic Church. She also cherished her years working at Montgomery Ward, where she formed lifelong friendships that brought her joy and companionship.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Christine Huebner; her brother, William Huebner and his wife Virgina Huebner; her brother-in-law Anthony Mimp and her eldest daughter, Barbara Brzoza.
Florence is also survived by her children: Kathy (Mitch) Windorff, Stephen Cuny, John (Joanne) Cuny, Jim (Melissa) Cuny, Trish Cuny, and her son-in-law Walter Brzoza Jr. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Dorothy Mimp, along with many nieces, nephews, and their families.
Being a grandmother and great-grandmother was one of Florence’s greatest joys. She is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Kristina Brzoza-Lewis (Eric), Kimberly Brzoza, Nick Rebman (Laura Andersen), Ryan Windorff (Carley), Laura Albers (Mark), Jennifer Derouin (Josh), Rachael VerHaagh (Andy), John Sewall (Kristine Preather), Ben Cuny, Sam Cuny, William Cuny, and Tony (Leanne) Roskams; and by her many great-grandchildren, who brought light and love to her days.
A funeral service to celebrate Florence’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 936 9th Street, Green Bay. Relatives and friends may greet the family at the church on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 from 9:30 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Florence will be laid to rest at Nicolet Memorial Gardens.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the nursing staff at St. Vincent Hospital, the staff at Rennes Health and Rehab Center and Moments Hospice and Lyndahl Funeral Home, who is assisting the family with arrangements.
