Florence Glodoski Obituary

Florence D. Glodoski, age 91, passed away on September 18, 2022 at Brookview Meadows Assisted Living in Green Bay with her family at her side.

Florence was born August 12, 1931 in De Pere, Wisconsin to Louis and Antoinette (Thyssen) Smith. She graduated from Nicolet High School with the class of 1949. On April 27, 1957 she married Lawrence Glodoski and together they had six children.

Florence was an excellent homemaker and loved to entertain. She loved cooking and baking, especially soups and pies. She had a servant’s heart and shared her love of cooking by volunteering in the church kitchen. There was always a potluck somewhere! She was a firm believer in eating dessert first and always had a secret stash of treats. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, needlework and crocheting. She was also an avid sports fan and loved watching the Packers, Brewers, especially Christian Yelich, and the Bucks. She enjoyed going to her grandchildren’s many sporting events.

In the early years of their marriage, Florence and Larry were foster parents for many children. Florence kept a journal and had a picture of each child they fostered.

Florence and Larry were also avid travelers, and in their later years they spent winters at Bibleville in McAllen, Texas.

Florence is survived by her children: Jean Willis, Jane Janssen (fiance Julian Hernandez), Tim (Lori) Glodoski, Steve (Deanna) Glodoski, Theresa (Mike) VanderLeest, and Patrick Glodoski (fiancé Dallas Bennett), her grandchildren: Holly Glodoski, Johanna (Randy) LaRock, Rebecca (Sam) Duval, Anna VanderLeest, Taylor (Will) Browning, Jayme (Dustin) Nachtwey, Richard (Valerie) VanderLeest, Grant (Amanda) Glodoski, Jordan Johnson, Michael Kaprelian, Josie Jansen, Mariah (Damien) Kong, Noelle Glodoski, Aleya Glodoski, Noah Glodoski, Alexis Glodoski, Elizabeth Glodoski, and Zachary Glodoski, her great-grandchildren: Dakota (Makayla), Abby, Jadin, RJ, Janessa, Jiovani, Levi, Ava, Beckham, and her great-great grandchild Kinsley. She was also survived by her two sisters Carol Bain and Janet Charles, her brother John Smith, and sister-in-law Betty (Ray) Przekurat.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers: Bartholomew (Bud) Smith, Neil Smith and Fabian Smith, and her six sisters; Elsie Schmidt, Dorothy Vogels, Mary Ann Jensen, Rose Mary De Ruyter, Joan Rickaby and Janice Romenesko.
